Teacher Trivia: Who Said It? [Film and TV Edition]

Remember taking literature courses in college? The classes where part of the final exam asked you to identify book quotes? Well, this quiz is like that. Sort of. This time, you’re identifying quotes from some famous fictional teachers from film and TV.

Pop quiz time: Who said these lines?

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”

Correct! Wrong!

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

Correct! Wrong!

“All stars have gas. That’s what they’re made of. But this two-million-year-old baby just hasn’t settled down yet. You know it’s at that awkward age.”

Correct! Wrong!

“Hey, hey, hey. What. Is. Going. On. Here?”

Correct! Wrong!

“If you let people’s perception of you dictate your behavior, you will never grow as a person.”

Correct! Wrong!

“Oh, Marcus. What are you trying to do, scare me? You sound like my mother. We’ve known each other for a long time. I don’t believe in magic, a lot of superstitious hocus pocus. I’m going after a find of incredible historical significance; you’re talking about the boogie man. Besides, you know what a cautious fellow I am.”

Correct! Wrong!

We even tried to trick you

You may have received an average score on a silly trivia quiz, but you’re certainly not an average teacher.

Blinking eye

Eh, maybe not the best score in the world. If you let your students retake tests, you could definitely give yourself the same courtesy.

Teacher prouding

Either you’re not a big film and TV person, or you’re too busy grading and lesson planning to bother. That’s fine with us—we still think you’re cool.
