You will also learn about the characteristics and types of play, and why play matters in learning for children of all ages.

Worth 3 PD credit hours, this free course provides strategies to help your students achieve optimal development in areas of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional health.

Learning Outcomes

This free micro course enables educators to:

  • Examine the meaning of play, including how it exists as a behavior and as a mindset.
  • Defend play as a research-based strategy for enhancing student learning.
  • Explore the characteristics and major types of play and provide examples of each. 

Upon completion of this micro course, you will receive a certificate from Advancement Courses notating that you’ve received 3 PD hours, at no cost to you.

Applicability of professional development hours varies from state to state. Please follow your district or governing body’s approval process to verify acceptance.
